What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?

Cognitive Hypnotherapy offers a safe and efficient therapy method that empowers individuals to undergo significant, positive and enduring change. Combining techniques from NLP, Hypnotherapy, CBT, Gestalt and Positive Psychology to name but a few, making it a versatile approach tailored to each individual. By working with the unconscious mind, we can delve into the root causes of challenges, focusing on treating you as an individual rather than your label.

With Cognitive Hypnotherapy we utilise your natural trance states, which we all dip in and out of spontaneously, multiple times during the course of a day. Some of these trance states that you might recognise are times when you're daydreaming, driving in your car and not remembering a section of your journey and the stage between wakefulness and sleep, when our bodies are totally relaxed and our unconscious mind can work without the filter of our conscious mind.

These naturally occurring shifts in awareness enable me to work with your unconscious mind and help it to find solutions to existing problems. We uncover feelings, thoughts and memory patterns that have led to the problem, and which continue to maintain it.

We work in your model of the world to modify those patterns so that you are able to take control of your behaviour, based on your understanding of what restricts you, so that you can be guided towards your solution.

How can Cognitive Hypnotherapy help you?

An Evidence-Based Approach

There was a study published in the Mental Health Review Journal in 2015. It recorded that, using 118 cases measuring the effectiveness of Cognitive Hypnotherapy for the treatment of depression and anxiety, 71% considered themselves recovered after an average of 4 sessions. This compared to an average of 42% for other approaches using the same measures (like CBT). You can read more information about the research project here.
